LitLab’s teacher settings let you tailor the platform to your classroom — from which phonics sequence powers your library to what students see and create.

Default Scope & Sequence

Set the phonics curriculum LitLab uses across the generator, library, and Skill Maps.

Classmate Story Access

Decide whether students can read stories beyond their own assignments.

Illustration Preferences

Choose the default illustration style for student-created stories.

Default Scope and Sequence

Your default scope and sequence tells LitLab which phonics curriculum you follow. Once set, it’s automatically selected whenever you open the generator, browse the library, or view Skill Maps — so you don’t have to pick it every time.

How to set your default

1

Open Settings

Click your profile icon and select Settings.
2

Choose your sequence

Under the Default Sequence section, open the dropdown and choose the phonics sequence your school or district uses.‡ If you don’t have a preference, leave it set to No preference — LitLab will default to UFLI.
3

Save

Click Save Settings to apply your changes.

Where your default applies

After changing your default sequence, Skill Maps data updates overnight. The generator and library reflect your new selection right away.
