# The LitLab Student Practice Platform

> Learn how students practice reading in LitLab through curriculum-aligned decodable stories, oral reading fluency practice, and teacher insights.

The LitLab Student Practice Platform gives students meaningful, curriculum-aligned reading practice while giving teachers visibility into reading fluency and progress.

Students read assigned decodable stories independently, listen to words when they need support, practice spelling target skill words, answer comprehension questions, and record themselves reading aloud so teachers can monitor growth over time.

## Designed for oral reading practice

LitLab is built around oral reading—one of the most effective ways to build reading fluency.

When **Audio Recording** is enabled, students record themselves reading each page aloud. LitLab analyzes every recording to provide teachers with objective fluency data while keeping students engaged through a simple record-and-read workflow.

Students can:

* Read curriculum-aligned decodable stories
* Record themselves reading aloud
* Tap unfamiliar words to hear pronunciations and view kid-friendly definitions
* Answer comprehension questions when included in an assignment
* View their reading results after completing a story
* Receive immediate feedback that highlights words needing additional practice

## What teachers receive

Every completed Read Aloud assignment provides data that helps teachers understand how students are progressing.

Depending on the assignment, LitLab captures:

* Words Per Minute (WPM)
* Accuracy
* AI-identified miscues
* Audio recordings for teacher review
* Assignment completion and reading history

Teachers can listen to recordings, review AI analysis, and use the data to identify students who may need additional support.

## Flexible for different classroom routines

Teachers choose how students practice by configuring assignments.

Assignments can include:

* **Read Aloud** for oral reading fluency practice and teacher insights
* **Silent Reading** for independent reading without audio recording

This flexibility makes LitLab useful for literacy centers, intervention groups, independent practice, homework, and progress monitoring.
