# AI Fluency Analysis: Review and Correct Student Recordings

> After students record their reading, LitLab AI analyzes each recording for WPM and accuracy. Teachers can listen, confirm, or correct the AI's analysis.

Every student recording is analyzed by LitLab's fluency AI within seconds of submission (when recording is enabled). The AI gives you a preliminary read on accuracy and WPM, but you stay in control — listen to the audio, confirm or correct the AI's miscue calls, and use the data to plan your next reteach.

## What the AI Measures

| Metric                             | What it shows                                                |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Words Correct Per Minute (WPM)** | Reading rate |
| **Accuracy %** | Words read correctly divided by total words attempted |
| **Miscues** | Each word the AI flagged as misread, substituted, or skipped |

## Why Teachers Stay in the Loop

The AI is consistently 90%+ accurate on early-reader recordings, but the last 10% matters — especially for emerging readers whose pronunciation is still developing. A 30-second teacher review per recording catches the edge cases and gives you a fast confirmation that your data is reliable.

<Tip>
  Make AI review part of your Friday data routine: spend 15 minutes listening to one recording per student before logging off for the weekend.
</Tip>

## How the Data Flows

* **Confirmed scores** populate your [teacher dashboard](/progress/teacher-dashboard) immediately.
* **Class-wide trends** appear in [class reports](/progress/class-reports).
* **Admin views** aggregate confirmed data across teachers — see the [admin dashboard](/progress/admin-dashboard).

## Privacy

Student recordings are never used to train AI models or shared outside your school. See [Privacy & Safety](/account/privacy-and-safety).
