# Oral Reading Fluency Practice: How It Works in LitLab

> Students read aloud and record themselves in LitLab. AI analyzes each recording for words per minute and accuracy, giving teachers instant data.

Oral reading fluency — the ability to read text accurately, at a reasonable rate, with appropriate expression — bridges decoding and comprehension. LitLab makes fluency practice part of every reading session without adding to the teacher's workload.

## The fluency loop

## Re-record safety net

If the system detects 0 WPM on at least 3 pages (microphone issue, silent recording, off-task, etc.), the student is prompted to re-record those pages before moving on. This catches missing data before it shows up in your reports.
